Angel Olsen, “Hi-Five”

Angel Olsen's forthcoming Jagjaguwar debut, Burn Your Fire For No Witness, has seen the typically polarized online music community relatively in agreement, and it's hard to say we're surprised. “Hi-Five”, the second single to release, follows up “Forgiven/Forgotten” and does so with a grungier, flanged guitar sound to balance out Olsen's warbly vocals. Utilizing some of the best lyrics we've heard from the songwriter so far, she asks the listener “Are you lonely, too?” and promptly delivers a hi-five, letting us know that we aren't all alone after all. To say that this is one of our most anticipated records of the coming months would be an understatement.

Burn Your Fire For No Witness releases through Jagjaguwar on February 18. Preorders are available here.
