Big K.R.I.T. with Grillade backing

Big K.R.I.T.

Grillade has been a rather friendly band since I began covering its music. Through an exchange of emails with Keelay, I learned back in '10 that Grillade would be handling the tracking on Big K.R.I.T.'s next EP.

Thanks to YoursTru.ly, Grillade's acoustic interpretation of Big K.R.I.T.'s “Never Go Back” off his highly-lauded debut album K.R.I.T. Wuz Here is given new life with Ragen Fykes helping K.R.I.T. on the somber chorus. On “Never Go Back” K.R.I.T. recalls the cooking of his Grandma Linnie and the strong influence she had on his life. Above is a copy of a letter K.R.I.T. wrote to her after her passing.

I was going to include the link to Big K.R.I.T.'s once-free debut, but it seems the link has been taken down per request of Def Jam. The signing is tremendous news for K.R.I.T., but comes as a bummer for the music freegans. You can purchase K.R.I.T. Wuz Here on iTunes.

Download “Never Go Back” here for .50 cents, or do like us and hold out to purchase the EP in full in the coming weeks. There will be vinyl.
