Cakes Da Killa ft. Peaches, “Up Out My Face”

One thing Jersey spitter Cakes Da Killa isn’t short on is confidence. Since hopping onto the scene, he’s delivered vivid, full-frontal content over vibrant production. The same is true of “Up Out My Face,” his recent collaboration with Canadian Electronic maven Peaches. Over sturdy synths and a thumping club kick, Cakes rhymes rapid fire about his haters, living the posh life in London, and how people should “watch how you talkin’ when you talkin’ to me” or probably get the F out of his face.

The hook could be construed as a little counterintuitive for a packed, sweaty club setting, but Cakes makes it work with a catchy delivery. Peaches also delivers with a brief but hypnotic appearance on the chorus. “Up Out My Face” is the second track from Cakes’ upcoming, appropriately titled, Hedonism project. The album is due October 21st on Ruffians/Thirty Tigers. In the meantime, you can listen to “Up Out My Face” below.
