Cocktails, “Hurt You”

Cocktails' delivered the pain of, “Hurt You”, that digs and scratches at latent retro wounds of sound. The San Francisco band recorded the single in The Mission district's historic Different Fur studio, for one of Converse's Rubber Tracks to make something larger than Eric Carmen and his Raspberries could have ever dreamed up.

On what might be one of the most massive Cocktails tracks to date, “Hurt You” serves up the cycles of pain and works to break the vicious circle. What happens is a power pop-no wave instant classic that turns the “Kids in America”-Kim Wilde for an audio phenomenon that is wilder. The ever-expanding abilities of Cocktails not only makes them an important part of the Bay Area music family but shows that they have the talent to rearrange, reorder and rewrite the new wave history books.
