Delorean, “Muzik”

We are big fans of Delorean at IMPOSE. So of course we had to check out their newest track “Muzik” off their upcoming Muzik LP. The second track on the album, “Muzik” makes a beeline straight into an otherworldly vibe, with what sounds like an alien spaceship landing meets starting a Macbook. We feel like we have set ourselves up for an electronic takeover of our minds, and that may or may not be what actually ended up happening. Lyrics like “music’s got a hold of me/it’s shaking the ground where I am” make us think we aren’t the only ones.

Not to be outdone, we also asked the band a few questions. They were happy to include the Pional Edit of “Muzik”, providing us an interesting alternative to the original. The bass sets in early, with synth overlays and a beat that brings your heart rate up substantially. This is certainly more of a dance track. If this doesn’t get you excited about the new album, we’re not sure what will!

How did you meet each other, and how did you decide on the name DELOREAN?

It’s a long story. It was not a decision we really thought about much. It kinda sounded good.

We previously asked you to name one item you’d take on a desert island with you. You discussed knives and laptops. Has that response changed in the last two years?

We’d definitely carry knives with us to a desert island. Not sure about the laptops though. Knives are way more useful if you think about it.

Where do you draw inspiration for your music from?

It’s all about music. We dig into our own personal musical universes and try to come up with something worth working on. We don’t really get inspiration from many other things than music.

What do you love most about playing live?

The energy. Sometimes there’s just an energy you don’t really know where it comes from but it creates unique moments.

What’s your favorite track from the new album?

We really like “Muzik”. It basically resumes the whole idea for the album.

Muzik is available June 22 on PHLEX. It is available for preorder now.
