Fat White Family, “Touch The Leather” (NSFW)

Fat White Family

Before you go and absolve yourself from the shame and guilt of getting a handy from a stranger during Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac, we’ve got something equally as depraved and humorous to offer you before you begin your ascent from out of the darkness—albeit a significantly shorter affair. It’s our new hedonistic heroes from London, the Fat White Family, and the video for the alternate take of their latest single “Touch the Leather”.

<p>There’s an exorbitant amount of cock in Nymphomaniac, so we found the gratuitous display of anus and gonads in “Touch the Leather (Redux)” to be a rather suitable digestif. Fear not degenerates, the homo-eroticism of the Guy Ritchie meets Scorpio Rising video by Roger Sargent has plenty of fetish to pique your interest even if you don’t know what the fuck creaking is.

The imagery presented in Sargent’s piece places Fat White Fam’s lead singer, Lias Soudi—a bizarre union of Cole Alexander and Serge Gainsbourg—focused in the foreground, honkin’ on a cigarette, waving around that Adrien Brody-esque beak that’ll drive you nasophiles up the wall. In the middle ground we’ve got a gentleman—presumably one of the six members of Fat White Family—on what may be a hidden skateboard, rolling side to side across the scene, grinding the air, flashing his ring and dangling those jewels for the pleasure of not only himself but for all you filthy freaks out there. Now, the background’s a tad more mysterious, and quite possibly our favorite part of the video. Cross-legged in front of the piano, sits a nude man playing five finga fillet in a slow, masturbatory motion. Totes creepy. Even further, Sargent pairs the grainy, lo-fi quality of the one-shot video with a fair helping of nostalgic props for all those neo-Luddites in the crowd. And, for all you Where’s Waldo nerds, aside from the long, narrow shaft of the protruding candle in the wine bottle atop the coffee table, how many phallic objects can you spot in the frame?

These guys rule. Perhaps it’s time for the Black Lips to pass the baton? Check out the original, sinister-hippie version of “Touch the Leather” below.

Touch the Leather 7” featuring both versions of the track is out now via Hate Hate Hate.
