Guantanamo Baywatch, “Love This Time”

Julia Selinger

Guantanamo Baywatch are a Portland-based trio well versed in surf, sludge, and trashy punk garage. On their latest release, GB put their knowledge to use and prove to be much more than an awesomely crafted band name. “Love This Time” is a beach-worthy jam as indebted to The Ventures as it is to the sinister squalls of The Cramps. The track is to be featured on the band's forthcoming split 7″, Surf N Turf, with Nashville rockers Natural Child. Just as Guantanamo Baywatch offer a hyrbid of puppy love and punk, so does the the record's artwork, with slimy text descending upon an idyllic Rockwellian meal.

Surf N Turf is out December 3rd on Suicide Squeeze Records. Check out Guantanamo Baywatch's tour dates this month.
