IMAGIST, “Lose My Faith”

Mike McKeever is one of those special talents that doesn’t exactly need an introduction. He debuted his first track under the moniker IMAGIST recently, a song called “Plastic Armour” which was accepted with rave reviews. We’ve got the exclusive first listen of his second track, “Lose My Faith”, which you probably need to give your day a boost.

“‘Lose My Faith’ is about a relationship that’s equally toxic and fun for the both of you,” explains McKeever. “You may repeat the same mistakes, trapped in a vicious circle, but you wouldn’t have it any other way – caught in each other’s orbit in the club.”

The song starts off with a heavy, bass-rich beat, which swirls nicely in with McKeever‘s ethereal vocals. It’s synth pop, it’s catchy, and it’s incredibly fun. “Lose My Faith” is a very danceable track, which is great since the lyrics are about getting lost in another person, and we’re over here getting lost in the music. As for the composition of the track? McKeever elaborates: “There’s a lot of 90’s influence in rap today- so to flip it I tried to make “808’s and Shoegaze. Being hard and vulnerable at the same time is definitely the look right now.”
