Brain McKnight's viral announcement of an adult mixtape with songs about teaching ladies how their hoo-has work caused a plethora of responses. For F.olk and ReallyNathan of the LA rap trio Late Bloomers, it led to inspiration. Late Bloomers dropped its Always Know EP this week for free download.
Always Know consists of instrumentals crafted by ReallyNathan and F.olk, as well as a remix to Growth Series 2 track “The Giver” (now labeled as “GVRRMX”) featuring Big Pooh of Little Brother. We can't seem to locate a McKnight sample within the EP, but what is on display is an array of down tempo productions that snap and rumble through the duration. Perhaps we'll chalk the inspiration to aspirations to grow as artists, which was McKnight's overlooked reasoning behind his newer, rauncher style.
