Lex Allen & LUXI – "The Darkness" ft. French Horn Rebellion

2017 has been a busy year for the New York-by-way-of-Milwaukee musician and producer Robert Perlick-Molinari. Aside from his usual duties fronting the electro-funk outfit French Horn Rebellion, Perlick-Molinari has joined his brother and bandmate David at the label/collective You Too Can Woo which celebrated its more formal launch back in July.
It’s that hometown connection, however, that sees Perlick-Molinari regularly returning to Milwaukee and a new studio. With that, the artist envisioned an avenue to spotlight emerging talent in the area via a series of collaborative projects, the first of which Impose Magazine is happy to share exclusively today.
Featuring the neo soul-pop singer Lex Allen and the electronic artist LUXI, “The Darkness” is a dizzying dance ride that finds Perlick-Molinari highlighting his partners’ best impulses. Allen’s indomitable vocals and LUXI’s witch-house influences swirl together into an adrenaline-stoking trip through dark atmospherics arriving just in time for your Halloween-party playlists.
“Everyone wants to lose control, just a little,” shares Allen. “With this new aphotic track, your inner-beast is free to be, with no inhibitions to hold you back. While writing with Luxi and Robert on the eve of Hugh Hefner’s passing, strange vibrations were all around, allowing freedom of expression amongst new friends. Transform your mind, move your body, and get lost in The Moonlight.”
