Lophiile ft. Freddie Gibbs, "On Top"

Post Author: Andre G

Two songs in, Seattle-based producer Lophiile is doing pretty well for himself. After collaborating with the likes of Zedd, GoldLink, Skrillex, Gallant, H.E.R., Ray Blk, and others, Lophiile is embarking on his solo journey. His debut “Newno” single featured Nick Grant and Moss Kena, but he went a little more grisly with his latest track “Off Top.” The 3-minute track employs Freddie Gibbs doing what he does best: dropping rapid-fire, grimy bars about the drug game.
Bouncing off of reverberating, bluesy guitar plucks that transitions into an eerie key melody, the electro-trap soundscape is perfect for Freddie Gibbs’ melodic, energetic flow. The track has plenty of movement that highlights Lophiile’s newfound acumen since leaving metal band ISSUES. “It’s probably because of my parents that I’m even doing this,” Lophiile has said. “I started playing instruments and then went into production. It kept snowballing from there.”
We’re waiting for the avalanche if “Off Top” is any indication. You can listen below..
