MH the Verb and Arthouse95 Premiere “Good Morning”

After April’s 3-song Owl EP, Philly-based artists MH the Verb and Arthouse95 are set to release their upcoming ArtHouse95 Vol. 1 EP. Today they’re premiering “Good Morning,” the first single from the project. The track follows up where Owl left off, showing off the crew’s burgeoning sonic blueprint: thick, dusty drums jutting through smooth, jazzy instrumentation. The song’s engineer Dave Humes played the song’s groovy bass line live.

Producer/MC MH the Verb says via e-mail that he and collaborators Drusef, Mic Stew and Kuf Knotz, “wrote the song during a cloudy studio session a couple years ago while reflecting on our daily grind and ambition as artists.”

MH kicks off the proceedings, lamenting that his car won’t start until he realizes it gives him time to think up rhymes while walking to the train. The other rhymers follow up with equally dense, relatable verses that are all sprinkled with an air of optimism.

MH says that “Good Morning” is a track that “perfectly exemplifies the collaborative style ArtHouse95 is all about.” Hopefully there’s more where this came from on the upcoming EP.
