Oliver Ignatius, "Light & Dark"

You’d be hard-pressed to find someone as influential and fiercely independent in the Brooklyn music scene than Oliver Ignatius. As the founder and spiritual leader of the Mama Coco’s Funky Kitchen collective and the lead producer for the studio of the same name, Ignatius’ name has popped up on a number of previously featured songs and albums here on Impose Magazine, but nothing with him as the lead artist.
That all changes as Ignatius recently unveiled a single, “Light & Dark,” with its companion video showcasing the Mama Coco’s family and memorializing the closed DIY spot Aviv.
Ignatius shares; “The video was directed by Eamon O’Rourke and Rafe Scobey-Thal, and was shot at the Harmonies which was a multimedia multisensory event Mama Coco’s put on which presented a flickering radio broadcast in the waning days of a failed military action carried out by bloodthirsty neo-liberalists in order to restore the harmonic equilibrium of the universe. The air was thick with more than just the clouds of our bodily aromas!”
