Oscar, “Daffodil Days”

Oscar, who had one of the more auspicious 2014s to speak of, has just signed with Wichita Recordings in tandem with the release of his hooky and upped-in-production new single, “Daffodil Days”. We heard him play the track at his CMJ showcase this past Fall, and it’s a pleasure finally hearing it in polished studio format. Oscar says “it’s about hope within despair,” in keeping with his penchant for infusing melancholic irony and ’80s British nostalgia into every song.

“Daffodil Days” is the A-side of a new 7″ (B-side is a song called “Caramel Brown) that Oscar recorded and produced himself, with mixing help from Claudius Mittendorfer (Temples, Johnny Marr, Jens Lekman, Neon Indian). The single will be released digitally March 1, then on vinyl March 23. You can stream “Daffodil Days” below.
