PREMIERE: Kira Metcalf – “Cheap Kind”

NY rock artist’s new track is a punch to the gut

“This is why we can’t have nice things!” A familiar sentiment to most of us and one that NY artist Kira Metcalf seems to know all too well as evidenced by her latest single, “Cheap Kind,” premiering with Impose today.

The fiery new cut from Metcalf finds her wastes little time in working up to the earworm chorus as her dynamic vocals grab a hold of you and never let up. It’s a little over three minutes of pitch perfect rock from an artist on the rise we’re excited to hear more from soon.

Metcalf shares, “‘Cheap Kind’ narrates the familiar feeling of shame that arises when one inexorably loses everything. From an earring, to a lover, to life itself, the catchy chorus expresses the age-old pain of encroaching nihilism. This punch-to-the-gut song will make you want to dance and cry at the same time.”

Listen to Kira Metcalf’s “Cheap Kind” below, look for it on streaming here and NYC folks can catch her at Elsewhere tonight (tickets).
