Raum, “Blood Moon”

Subtlety has always been the specialty of Liz Harris's Grouper solo project (though occasionally her album titles can get bogged down by metaphor and severity), and nothing has changed in her companion project with Jefre Cantu-Ledesma. Under the moniker Raum, the duo is making ghostly, voice-heavy experimental music that sounds like the filling of a room. While the track itself is ethereal like Harris's former projects, it feels less impatient, and not as twitchy, like working with another musician has given her a chance to slow herself down. The duo will have an album out on Glass, house on November 15.
