Real Numbers, “Frank Infatuation”

Post Author:

Minneapolis-based DIY/mod/pop band Real Numbers – comprised of Eli Hansen (vocals/guitars), John Eggerman (bass), James Blackfield (drums), and newer lead guitar addition Ian Nygaard – is rolling out some long-awaited new tunes. Having been integral pieces of several music projects, they’re now allowing themselves more time to dedicate to the support of their upcoming full length album, Wordless Wonder. They will celebrate its release with their second east coast tour in September. “Frank Infatuation” is the first track from the upcoming album, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere right here.

Within the first couple of chords, you know this song is going to be a fun anthem to sing along to in your car. (Is there any other way to classify a song as a success, after all?) It’s upbeat, twinged with Real Numbers’ classic vintage rock n’ roll sound, and the vocals stay – almost staccato – over the instrumentals. It’s a song about romance, second chances, and it’s got our heads spinning in the right direction.
