“Got that broccoli cheddar soup / with that Panera Bread.”
Happy Wednesday to us all. In a moment of otherwordly benevolence, we've been given a Lunice-produced track for Chicago newcomer Rockie Fresh (with no affiliation to the A$AP Mob), and not only is it a banger to end all bangers, its subject matter is Panera Bread, the sandwich-and-soup chain. You had us at “Panera Bread.” Lunice, who recently signed with Maybach Music while his partner, Hudson Mohawke, went with Yeezy's G.O.O.D. Music, creates exactly what we'd expect from the man. Ice-cold, warped, synth beats with nary else, and a direct unfiltered vocal from Fresh and a guest spot from Fresh's new boss, Rick Ross.
Our only regret is that there is no simile likening Panera's U-Pick-2 meal plan with two sets of booties in the club. And this is why we are not rappers. Rockie's latest mixtape, Birthday Tape, is expected to drop any day now. Keep a lookout.
