Former contributor and Pink Priest, William Cody Watson has kept busy over at Bathetic making inspirational mixes and collaborating with Cough Cool's Dan Svizeny, the man partly responsible for one of the finest records in Decemeber, Lately. The amigos in weirdo have a project called Scissoring, in which the duo aim for the dry hot heat of desert shoegaze. Scissoring's debut We Hate Everything, released through Lee Noble's No Kings tape label sold out, while the future holds a proper release of Nuclear Wet Earth and No Dreams/No Regrets on Skrot Up.

In the meantime, Scissoring reimagined the chopped and screwed format with the Slowed & Throwed: Death Valley Mixtape. The mixtape is nearly two hours of slow spun grit and baked beans rock n' roll. It sounds like driving a Camaro across the American Southwest, jamming a classic rock station on a busted transistor. Bruce Springsteen, Ween, ZZ Top, Raekwon, Metallica, Ride, Rollins Band and Velvet Underground crawl through the speakers and everything is fucking desolate.
