Sixth & College, “Making Up”

Sixth & College have released their new single “Making Up” just in time to turn things up a notch as summer reaches its zenith. The bi-coastal pair (singer/songwriter Jeremy Porcha lives in Los Angeles, CA while Producer Will Proulx holds it down in Savannah, GA) have crafted a  propulsive track with a bouncy beat brighter than sunshine and instrumentation that evokes an EDM Electric Light Parade on safari. By the time Porcha’s smooth as sea glass vocals come in, the song has hit a stride that never relents.

Proulx’ marvelous production must also be noted as the clarity of the tune really allows the composition of the song to show. Unlike some songs that telegraph their drops or structure by adhering too closely to formula, “Making Up” builds organically to a skittering breakbeat chorus that flows seamlessly into the next verse via a section that will have you and the rest of the dance floor clapping along. With lyrics that detail all there is to like and love about a relationship, specifically making up with one another and assumedly all that may entail, “Making Up” is the perfect soundtrack for sweaty summer romances and parties in the sand.

“Making Up” is available now. You can follow Sixth & College on their website, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
