Light and airy guitar riffs mix with choppy vocals to produce this fluid, smooth new track from established electronic artist Slow Magic. Two years since the major release of Triangle, this new track, “Girls,” comes as his first new single released by Downtown Records. Rarely found without his colorful, deer-like mask, Slow Magic seems to have carved a niche in the happy, sunny, ethereal, electro realm and this track demonstrates he doesn’t want or need to stray from there.
The new track jolts and repeats in a way that shakes you, but in a pleasant and relaxing summer massage kind of way. I imagine the track as an anthem for a rebellious young character in a Zach Braff film or as background music for a killer 8th grade friendship sequence. Needless to say, the track drips “summer” and though “Girls” will not take the coveted spot of song of the summer, the track certainly has the staying power to blare through many car speakers and headphones these upcoming balmy days and nights.
