Sometimes, Forever will arrive on June 24 via Loma Vista

Ascendant indie superstar Sophie Allison, aka Soccer Mommy, has just announced her new LP Sometimes, Forever (out June 24 via Loma Vista), the follow-up to her 2020 instant-classic color theory. Today she’s also released “Shotgun,” the lead single from the album, which was produced entirely by Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never.

“Shotgun” is a catchy indie rock banger that traces the epic highs and plunging lows of an intense romantic relationship. Grungy basslines, propulsive guitars and shimmering ’80s synths converge in hypnotically emotional ways, and the chorus absolutely flies. It’s another beautiful step in Soccer Mommy’s sonic evolution. The song’s tumultuous sprit is beautifully conveyed in its cinematic Kevin Lombardo-directed music video.

“‘Shotgun’ is all about the joys of losing yourself in love,” Allison explained. “I wanted it to capture the little moments in a relationship that stick with you.”
