Celestial Shore, “Gloria”

Post Author:

Celestial Shore’s debut full-length, 10x, came out last Fall, housing discordant avant-jazz rock single “Valerie“, among other deconstructed complexities on the album. Today, they’re premiering “Gloria”, the first cut off the upcoming Enter Ghost LP.

The track is mostly devoid of 10x‘s spastic hard-to-soft changes in gear, sticking to a steady tempo and nostalgic indie rock melodies; and it’s decidedly un-jazzy too. Their experimental element has made for bewitching live shows that cause the eyes to glaze over. How this foray into real pop might translate live is for each and every one of us to determine. For our Brooklyn readership, that opportunity could be tonight at Baby’s All Right. Celestial Shores will be performing at the Landlady release show.

Enter Ghost comes out October 14 on Hometapes.
