Portland-based Pictorials follow up the single, “Sense of Vanity,” with three additional tracks rounding out the full debut, Learning EP. The release is a Britpop inspired goldmine, with front man Morgan Nicholson’s monotone verses spicing up some contrastive snap.
Formed less than a year ago, Pictorials have been busy blowing it up on the west coast as supporting act for Black Moth Super Rainbow’s sold out tour. Also recommended reading is Nicholson’s narrative account of that experience…from finding a crack-filled sunglasses case outside a hotel room in downtown Seattle, to handling the whims of an eccentric sound engineer in San Francisco, among others.
October 8 marks the physical release of the EP. Email the band directly for a CD with an individually designed sleeve (limited supply), or attend the early release party at Portland’s Holocene on SEPTEMBER 19.
