Prolific experimental producer/rapper Vritra’s YELLOWING LP is due on July 22nd. Today, he’s premiering “PSA,” the second single from the electronic project. “Question and Demand” was the first single, a pointed statement against rampant hyper-masculinity.

“PSA” resides in similar waters, with Vritra (formerly Pyramid Vritra) protesting the phoniness and materialistic predation that comes with money.

“Watch your woman,” Vritra advises. “See ya girl, plottin on me,” he warns on the chorus before staggering across a pleasantly off-kilter composition composed of galloping hi-hats and sparse keys.

His monotone delivery is compellingly melodic, offering his fragmented-yet-poignant insights in a variety of flows throughout the nearly 3-minute “PSA.”

Vritra’s sound is the kind of elaborate minimalism one can master when they’re not too busy “payin’ for pussy” when “all she wanted was a mention.”

YELLOWING will be out on NRK records. You can stream “PSA” below.
