The release of Swearin's self-titled record last year hit like a bunch of emo-inflected bricks and filled in a sweet spot that we didn't know we were sorely missing. On November 5, Swearin' will put out the sophomore followup to that record, an album called Surfing Strange, and the first single from it is the standard-issue Swearin' with a dose of mildly sweet mastery from co-lead singer Kyle Gilbride, whose voice seems notably more improved since their debut. “Watered Down” is a perfectly effective first track to put forth, and we look forward to seeing what the rest of the record will hold (at the very least, we hope it'll be longer than the s/t). Swearin' are on tour now, and will meet up with sister band Waxahatchee mid-November. Check out those dates below and keep an eye on Salinas Records for a record preorder.
