Back in the boom days of 2003-2007 or thereabouts, Ryan and Hays Holladay headed the glistening, pitch-perfect electro-pop outfit The Epochs.

At the same time, the pair would foray into foggier electronic prattle and skittering live improvisation when the whole band couldn't make it for the show, or something. Now it looks like they've taken those two glistening, gorgeous turds and flung 'em through a big industrial fan. What came out? Bluebrain.

No, no. Not “the first comprehensive attempt to reverse-engineer the mammalian brain!” They got me there, too!

Bluebrain is the silkiness of The Epochs, coupled with the rawer instincts of those old electro jams of yore, the reverse-engineered resurrection and the life, and they have the coolest live setup I've ever seen:
