Three new Tan Dollar tracks

Had we been holed up, concocting Best Of The Month lists back in March, instead of partying our faces off in Austin, we might have given the stamp of awesomeness to Tan Dollar for its Your Body As A Temple record. Then again, we received the record because of a chance meeting at SXSW – the universe is strange.

After a summer of touring with Weed Diamond and Dash Jacket, we nearly lost Tan Dollar. Drummer Chris Balingit left the band, leaving TD with some big shoes to fill. As though it was as easy as going to the hardware store, he was replaced with a new drummer (Mike Shekan) and a bassist (Ilya Sandomirsky) was added – possibly with a buy one get one free coupon.

Now a four piece, Tan Dollar is putting the finishing touches on an 8-song cassette called Uneven, which has not lost an inch of bliss-driven keyboard pop splendor. Guitarist Chris Thorne could not disclose the label just yet, but we're stoked enough on TD going plastic. We'll have further news on the release date and label, as well as split 7″ with Witch Gardens on Sixteen Tambourines.
