Tsutro, “Tanoak” ft. Natalie Nicoles

Meredith Schneider

Genre-blending new artist Tsutro – Jacob Montague of Branches – is making a name for himself in the industry. His sound at present was inspired by a recent trip to Cambodia, and utilizes aspects of the country’s traditional folk music with the western pop you can find all over Cambodia. “Tanoak” is his new single, and we’ve got the exclusive premiere.

The song establishes itself with dreamy strings, accompanied by chimes and the beat of a drum so tribal, you feel as though you’re exploring the culture itself. The bass drops and more electronic sound is incorporated, while the angelic voice of Natalie Nicoles (Branches) fights its way through the instrumentals.

This is a song we will be enjoying on repeat.

Keep up with Tsutro here.
