Garage punk stalwarts announce third LP Always Something & serve up infectious power pop anthem

Gainesville’s UV-TV are one of the best bands to emerge from the DIY scene in the last several years. They now reside in Queens and continue to serve up their catchy blend of garage, punk, and power pop, which they absolutely nailed on their first two albums Glass and Happy. Today, the trio returns with one of their best songs yet, the fuzzy power pop ripper “Distant Lullaby.” Even better news: they’ve announced the forthcoming release of their highly anticipated third LP Always Something.

“Distant Lullaby” is the perfect UV-TV track: whirring, uplifting guitar melodies, a propulsive “ba-ba-ba” vocal hook, and frontwoman Rose Vastola’s sweetly voice steering the ship with infectious aplomb. When the concert scene finally returns, expect this one to turn into a rabid, heart-on-your-sleeve singalong.

UV-TV’s Always Something arrives on May 28 via PaperCup Music. You can give “Distant Lullaby” a spin below.
