33 1/3 Announces Newest Titles

Bloomsbury’s 33 1/3 series, which aims to feature inventive and thorough music writing, has announced its next sixteen titles, slated to be published in starting in the spring of 2017, after a particularly competitive open round of proposals. The upcoming titles touch on a fairly wide variety of genres and canonical positions, and they offer work from authors from a variety of backgrounds.

The upcoming titles are:

Fugazi’s In on the Kill Taker by Joe Gross
Modern Lovers’ The Modern Lovers by Sean L. Maloney
Merle Haggard’s Okie from Muskogee by Rachel Rubin
Siouxsie and the Banshees’ Peepshow by Samantha Bennett
Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s Return to the 36 Chambers: The Dirty Version by Jarett Kobek
Wendy Carlos’ Switched-On Bach by Roshanak Kheshti
Japan’s Tin Drum by Agata Pyzik
Lou Reed’s Transformer by Ezra Furman
Angelo Badalamenti’s Twin Peaks OST by Clare Nina Norelli

Authors George Grella (Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew) and Bryan C. Parker (Beat Happening’s Beat Happening) will read from their respective 33 1/3 titles at Word Brooklyn on November 5, 2015 at 7 P.M., with an event immediately afterward right down the street at T.B.D. to celebrate the new titles.
