This new band features a Yugoslavian and a Georgian (the country) and a Korean and a dude who went to Rutgers, if the press release is to be believed. Other information included in release: “at the tender age of five, Marika [the Georgian] attempted to poison her older brother and his friend with rat poison; she was unsuccessful.” They have a sort of art school (they also went to Parsons) take on Kraut rock-slanted pop. They do really rhythmically driving, machine-inspired pop music, with weird sampled metallic sounds and plenty of genre hopping (was that Bruce Springstein? Duran Duran?).
They're streaming their full length here. (You'll need to disable pop ups for that one page. It's worth it!). It's called Star Destoryer, and it's out on Jagjaguwar on April 24.
