Impose Selectors Podcast Vol. XXVII

Impose Selectors

Impose Selectors Podcast took a mid-summer's hiatus and let the syndicated sessions roll in July. The re-runs might have continued had we not convinced Ben Swanson of Tammar, a shut-in with taste, to man the post for a Friday and not spend his summer in the sprinklers or chasing ice cream trucks. It was a lot like the survivors of Oceanic 815 stumbling upon Desmond in the hatch. We gave him brief instructions, answered zero questions and then darted off into the woods, screaming in joy.

Swanson manned the helm with poise, letting loose a blaxploitation-era meets African-funk jam by Sinkane, a side project by Yeasayer's Ahmed Gallab. What ensued was an hour-long journey that began in Africa and ended in a meditative Japanese song that Tammar referred to as “the only Beatles song [he's] ever loved.” The podcast is in the archives of Viva-Radio and available for download below.
