Livestream Of The Day (7/16): Soft Kill

Post Author: Jeff Cubbison

Portland post-punks’ Pickathon set streaming this afternoon

Portland post-punk band Soft Kill have turning heads over the last several years for their ashy blend of dissonant noise, trash, and catchy, shimmering new wave sounds. Their most recent album, 2018’s Savior, captures gorgeous synth melodies and staticky shoegaze, and was one of our favorite albums of that year.

Today, legendary Oregon indie music festival Pickathon digs into their video vault again, and this time around the featured set will be Soft Kill’s performance from last year. A friend of ours saw them last year and was blown away. You can watch that set at 1 p.m. PT on Brooklyn Vegan’s Facebook page HERE. They’re also taking donations for MusiCares’ COVID-19 relief fund. You can also watch an old Soft Kill performance below.
