Stones Throw “yacht funk” spazzes the Stepkids have a gift for you: a new, free EP. Surprise! Wanderers EP is a funked-up, progged-up, pop-downed, freak-show mini-masterpiece. The three-track effort traverses an even more left-of-the-center-of-outer-space terrain than we’re used to with the (initially) Bridgeport, CT three piece. It’s more of an Ava Luna/Dirty Projectors-inflected effort than anything they’ve done previously, and that, as it turns out, is a good thing. The whole guy is available to stream and/or download on Soundcloud. Enjoy the gift, because, odds are, you’re probably too old to be receiving such nice free things anyways.
