The Thermals just released a 7-inch single, “Never Listen to Me,” with the B-side “There is Always A Reason,” available digitally or on actual, tangible vinyl. (The vinyl's got free shipping though, and lets be honest, who doesn't like having stuff brought from across the goddamn country to your doorstep for free?)
“Never Listen to Me” starts out fairly impish, with a 3-note hook and skippy drumbeat. But as the guitars get darker and louder, it evolves into something richer and the meaning of the mantra “Never Listen to Me” becomes twisted to tasty effect.
