Not hard to say if this re-vamp of “Flying Overseas”, recorded in L.A. this past March with Solange Knowles and Devonte Hynes, can really top the original off Theophilus' I Want You mixtape.

It cannot.

That doesn't make it the runt of the litter. The Green Label Sound single version of “Flying Overseas” is the plush dress-up party that spruces the track for girlfriends who don't like the rap, Daft Punk beatniks, and a sense of deja-vu that feels sun-faded since the first time, maybe because flying overseas means a red-eye and an early morning landing to wherever the hell this tropical oasis where Beyoncé's sister sweetly sings to you may be.

Here's Version 1 of the song, a sparser, chillier, three-minute take that showcases London's clever tongue. (Really glad Version Knowles kept the opening, “Mr. Tax-man, it's been a long time, but I'll be back again.”):
