Two members of Freddie Gibbs’ crew were shot outside Rough Trade in Williamsburg last night around 1:13 a.m., after Gibbs had played. The gunman ran up along side Gibbs’ car just as it was rolling away from the venue. Gibbs said he was the intended target of the shots, according to the New York Post.

Gibbs told the Post: “They tried to kill Tupac. They tried to kill me … I’m Freddie Gibbs. They tried to kill me, but I’m still alive.”

An investigator told Gibbs: “He [the shooter] was standing around you guys all night. He was stalking you guys. We can tell on camera, he wanted it to look like he knew you, but it’s clear he didn’t. When you guys left, he was waiting for you outside.”

After the shooting, Gibbs ran back to Rough Trade and saw the gunman fleeing east on 9th street. One victim was shot in the leg and the other in the hand. They were both brought to Bellevue and listed in stable condition.
