Composer Alex Maddalena goes by Ugly Hussy on a new solo LP, Host, coming by way of Aloe Music. Maddalena recorded the album in Boise, Idaho, where he currently lives in between frequent trips to the coasts. “Mountain Home” is an eleven-and-a-half-minute B-side, full of blissfully fuzzed-over guitar soloing and split into roughly three melodic phases. The natural ebb of the piece gives it a breathing quality, and it richly fills every corner of the aural space it inhabits.
