Azu Yeché – “Black Market”

Post Author: Aidan Grant

Hotly-tipped West London songwriter is on an upward trajectory

Following on from the unprecedented success of his first two singles ‘Farmhouse’ and ‘Sunrise’, Azu has been picked up by BBC 6 Music, Earmilk and Fubar Radio.  He’s also managed to sell out a UK tour.

Not one to rest on his Laurels, the British-Nigerian songwriter is capitalising on the undeniable hype with ‘Black market’. It’s a simple yet effective piece, based on a lush guitar and vocal arrangement. Playful in it’s nature, on the track Azu states.

On some level, most people live a part of their lives on the blackmarket and in my own little way, this song is peeling away the shame people might feel by simply being themselves. I’ve seen so many friends and family members struggle mentally because they’ve had to hide their true selves to fit what they feel is expected of them”.
