You might remember our coverage of Barcelona’s Desert years back with their single “Camins” and they return with word of that their new EP will be available June 6 from CSCN (Cascine’s singles imprint). The combined talents of Cristina Checa (from Granit) & Eloi Caballé careen their production smarts together to make their brightest pop numbers that the world has ever heard.
“Sense Likes” finds Desert playing off those over-thought/overwrought sensory sorts of instincts that inspires excited dance move impulses. The sense of anticipating beautiful moments shared between a pair of star-crossed friends turned-lovers spurns an audio outing where every Balearic rhythm finds a groove at what feels like the most privy dance party you can imagine.
Cristina Checa penned the following introductory reflective paragraph about the sensations & affinities that contributed to the creation of “Sense Likes”:

Human beings harbor contradictory feelings. On the one hand, there are those of self-importance and arrogance and on the other the despair and impotence of its own limits. In reality everything revolves around the concept of opposites, I am—I am not. After a period in my life defined by absence, I realized that I was not alone, it is one of the most recognizable feelings in a living being in all of its forms.
