Deltron 3030 at Highline Ballroom

On Monday, October 14th, a sold out crowd spent Columbus Day with Deltron 3030 at Highline Ballroom. The group featuring Dan the Automator, Kid Koala and Del The Funkee Homosapien, returned for a second date in the New York City area backed by an orchestra (called the 3030 Orchestra) in support of ther second album, Event II. Dan remarked during their performance that they took a short, 13 year hiatus and the night ended with a live performance of “Clint Eastwood” from Dan The Automator's other project, Gorillaz. We have to mention that the 3030 Orchestra's trombonist may have stolen show with her enthusiastic dancing and singing throughout their nerarly 90 minute set. Itch, of the UK, was scheduled to open their entire tour but could not make it to the US (most likely due to visa issues thanks to the government shutdown), so Kid Koala opened the show with an extended turntablist set instead.

Photos from Deltron 3030's Brooklyn Bowl show are available here and an interview with Dan and Del can be found here.

Fun fact: our photographer last saw Deltron 3030 at Irving Plaza on November 6, 2000.
