Electric Punanny, Princess Nokia and more at Brooklyn Museum

Post Author: Owen Rogers

For the first Saturday of March 2015 (Saturday, March 7, 2015), Brooklyn Museum celebrated Women’s History Month with various events all day such as hosting a satellite session of Art+Feminism Wikipedia Edit-a-Thon,  a song circle and movement activity led by Harriet’s Apothecary, a conversation with Tavi Gevinson, founder of Rookie Magazine, plus a live music performance by Princess Nokia (who was joined on stage by dancers from the audience) and a DJ set by Electric Punanny (Jasmine Solano and MeLo-X). As with all First Saturday events, the entire museum was free to the public and photographer Owen Rogers included images from the current exhibition from Kehinde Wiley.
