Pixies and John Grant at Kings Theatre

Loew’s Kings Theatre opened in Flatbush, Brooklyn in 1929 as one of the five “Loew’s Wonder Theatres” in the New York City area (the other four were located in Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Jersey City, NJ). The theater closed in 1977 (due to declining sales and competition from multiplexes) and reopened in 2015 after undergoing a massive renovation. On Thursday, May 28, Pixies (Black Francis/Frank Black, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Paz Lenchantin) performed a sold out concert at Kings Theatre with a supporting set from John Grant.

The Pixies performed in a historic (and landmarked) place in Brooklyn last week.
