Super Bock em Stock

Watching artists you’ve never heard of play sets you’ll never forget at a festival you’ve never been to… that, in a nutshell, is how Super Bock em Stock went down for me last weekend in Lisbon. The fest, which took place over two days in 10 different venues around the Avenida da Liberdade area of Lisbon, featured both local and European artists as well as exactly one band I had heard of: Black Country, New Road. And as luck would have it, they had to cancel due to a band member becoming ill. Nonetheless, Iceage, Django Django, Wet Leg, Lava la Rue, Priya Ragu, and more came through in riveting fashion. Scroll through to check it out for yourself.

Plenty of fun was had at Super Bock em Stock: running around a beautiful city and checking out new venues (a former Moorish palace! A train station! An art deco cinema!), discovering new bands, eating pork sandwiches, and of course drinking the namesake Super Bock beer made for a memorable weekend.
