Goldroom, aka Josh Legg, is a singer, producer, and songwriter who specializes in electronic pop. Centered around honest songwriting, Josh has recently released a new single off of his upcoming album, West of the West, called “Silhouette.” Based in LA, Legg says that his new album’s title was inspired by Teddy Roosevelt, because he had often referred to California as the “west of the west,” during his time as president and Legg says that “It’s always resonated with me because it feels like a destination past the Wild West — an oasis where anything is possible.”
“Silhouette” was inspired by Daft Punk, Phoenix, and Alan Braxe. The beginning chords reminded me of Maroon 5’s “Sugar.” When the vocals begin, however, it’s clear that it’s a completely different sound. The electronic beats combined with Josh’s energetic voice creates a mellowed out vibe. The beat is classic and makes you want to dance as it pulsates and drives the song. This track is the first single to be released off of Goldroom’s West of the West, and one might even say that it’s… golden.
