Better Oblivion Community Center @ The Independent
Better Oblivion Community Center–the supergroup of Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers–wrapped up their tour (and maybe the band) at the Independent in San Francisco on August 11th, a day after their set at Outside Lands. Playing to a packed house, they band tour through their debut record, as well as a some covers of their own tunes, a Magnetic Fields song, and “Shallow” from A Star is Born…

The second day of Outside Lands music festival in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park saw an amazing performance from Childish Gambino–possibly his last Bay Are Show ever under that moniker. Better Oblivion Community Center, the new collaboration featuring Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers, played a sold-out show at August Hall in San Francisco. The show featured songs from their self-titled debut record, as well as covers and reworked versions from their respective solo catalogs. Opening the show were two Bridgers cohorts, the experimental punk theatrical outfit Sloppy Jane, and singer/songwriter Christian Lee Hutson.
