Portland inhabitant Alexandra Savior released her new video “Girlie” which is written and directed by Alexandra herself. The video was shot with a super 8 camera in Cannon Beach and Sauvie Island, both are in Oregon.
She made her mark last summer, following the release of her debut single “Shades,” which left an impression on many. Her debut album Belladonna of Sadness was released earlier this year to critical praise and was co-written by Alexandra and British rock frontman Alex Turner (Arctic Monkeys/Last Shadow Puppets) and co-produced by James Ford (Haim/Florence and the Machine) and Alex Turner.
Alexandra says “My main influence visually was Peter Weir’s 1975 portrayal of “Picnic at Hanging Rock”, so it was important to find a stunning landscape for the shots”
The talented mistress in both music and film has created a magnum opus, combining the two together. The result with “Girlie” is truly a work of art with the warmth and comfortability she brings. The beach and her noir style vocals, tie up the story she is trying to portray nicely.
