From Miami, the band Heavy Drag just released their video for their song, “S 2 9,” from their upcoming album, bana Ghost. The band has been referred to as “dark psych rockers,” and I must say, that is an accurate description.

The video for “S 2 9” is ominous and eerie. The visuals show the band playing in dimly lit room, with only red lights to illuminate it. The movements of each person seem slowed and delayed, giving it a sluggish feel. The vocals are echo-y, intertwining with the instrumentals. The video gets violent as the camera pans away from the band, and shows a woman beating a man on the ground with a belt. The video is dark and mysterious overall.

Bass player/bg vox and “S 2 9” director Michael J. Ruiz-Unger says that, “The idea behind the video was to make a dark red lit version of Weezer’s  “Sweater Song” video. I wanted that 90s one take feel but with a submissive feel.” And that feeling is there. It certainly is.
