Inspired and the Sleep – “First Time” & “In My Labyrinth Mind” live video

Post Author: Jeff Cubbison

Inspired and the Sleep is an indie-rock/pop band comprised of songwriter/producer Max Greenhalgh and multi-instrumentalist Bryce Outcault. The LA-by-way-of-San Diego duo churns out warm indie-pop jams packed with lush, atmospheric instrumentation and hypnotic off-kilter melodies, and Greenhalgh’s singing voice is especially pure and sweet-sounding. Lately Greenhalgh has been performing solo shows, and you can now watch a recent live session in which he performs a pair of recent Inspired standouts – “First Time” and “In My Labyrinth Mind.”

“This year I started playing solo quite a bit more doing winery tours up the coast and other gigs that the band couldn’t make it out to. Naturally, I thought it would be fun to put together some versions of our songs that are stripped down to just piano and vocals,” says Greenhalgh. In each video, he naturally fastens the Inspired songs into a more moody, stripped-down set-up, anchored by haunting pianos and his searing vocal croon. Just like in their recorded versions, the choruses absolutely soar here as Greenhalgh captures intimate, poignant vibes. The live session was filmed in Echo Park by Zachary Lefevre of Six Degrees Creative production company.

Inspired and the Sleep are set for a headlining performance tomorrow at Solana Beach’s Belly Up Tavern. You can purchase tix and find out more info HERE.
